A daily voice briefing agent for a founder who has no time to read one

An AI agent that joins a standing Google Meet, listens, and delivers a spoken daily briefing - built on a staged evidence-to-action model instead of a chatbot that just talks back.

Overview

A founder running multiple ventures needed a daily briefing that didn't require reading anything - a voice agent that could sit in a recurring meeting, synthesize what mattered across the business, and speak it out.

The harder problem wasn't the voice output. It was making sure the agent never overstated what it knew, and never took an action it hadn't earned the right to take.

Approach

Designed a four-stage output model - evidence, opinion, suggestion, autonomous action - so the agent only escalates to acting on something once it has clearly earned that trust level, never jumping straight to a decision.

Built the ingestion layer to pull from the tools that actually mattered (task tracker, email, meeting notes) and consolidated a fragmented set of competing briefing prompts into one unified version.

Set hard boundaries deliberately - no autonomous messaging on certain channels, strict data isolation for anything voice-related - because an agent that speaks for you needs narrower permissions than one that just summarizes for you.

Fixed the unglamorous reliability work: async/sync blocking in the webhook handler, authentication edge cases, a self-echo bug where the agent would react to its own voice output.

Result

A standing daily briefing now runs unattended, synthesizing across every connected source into one spoken summary.

The staged trust model became the template for two more automation projects that followed.

Reliability fixes took the pipeline from something that needed daily babysitting to something that runs on its own.
